Dataset extent

Long-term observations of hourly bottom temperatures at Mosterts Hoek, South Africa (October 2001 - November 2002)

Here we present processed hourly subsurface temperatures from Underwater Temperature Recorders (UTRs) located at a depth of 4m off Mosterts Hoek (34.1978°S 24.7688°E), along the east coast of South Africa, between 29 October 2001 and 11 November 2002. At selected sites around South Africa, UTRs have been used to obtain long-term records of bottom temperature in the nearshore environment, at depths ranging from 2m to 34m. Note that for some deployments, two UTRs were deployed to simultaneously record bottom temperatures.
